Our Ministry
We believe that Spiritual Formation is an on-going process that begins in childhood and continues throughout life. We believe that a big part of spiritual formation includes sharing our stories with one another in a safe, loving, and non-judgmental environment, and building positive memories through Bible study, activities, and retreats. We seek to provide teenagers with opportunities for Worship, Bible Study, Discipleship, Music, Missions, and Fellowship on an on-going basis.
Worship - Teenagers are encouraged to be present, participate, and lead in corporate worship each week. From time to time, youth also prepare and lead dramatic presentations and other forms of creative arts in worship as well.
Bible Study - Teenagers are encouraged to engage in Bible study each week. These times of Bible study are discussion-based and encourage teens to think for themselves and to apply biblical principles to day-to-day living.
Discipleship - Teenagers are encouraged to participate in small group studies, special retreats, and camps designed to challenge and encourage them to grow in their faith and relationship with God. Youth are provided numerous leadership opportunities to grow and serve through the church. We typically participate in the Passport Youth Camps each summer as well.
Music - Teenagers are encouraged to participate by singing in the Youth Choir, playing or singing with the Praise Team, or by playing bells in the Youth Handbell Choir.
Missions - Teenagers are encouraged to participate with our Youth on Mission Team that is actively involved in mission education and hands-on mission projects throughout the year. Typically, one of the weekly youth trips each summer involves some type of hands-on mission work. In recent years we have gone to Washington D.C., Buffalo, Canada, Morehead City, and Asheville, and Charleston, SC.
Fellowship - Teenagers are encouraged to build relationships with one another through a variety of fellowship opportunities offered each week. These fellowship opportunities include family night meals, snack suppers, times of recreation in the gym, games in the youth game room, or just hanging out together. Youth also participate in lock-in/lock-outs, retreats, and other 'fun' outings as a group.
