Ways You Can Help

It is essential for families to be involved in the Youth Ministry at Rolesville Baptist Church.  Suggestions for parent involvement include:

1. Sign up to prepare/bring a Snack Supper on a Sunday evening.  We serve a snack supper every Sunday at 5:45 p.m. You can cook or purchase the meal. Serving snack supper provides a   wonderful opportunity for parents to see how the youth interact with their friends. We expect every youth family to be involved and participate in serving snack suppers.

2. Chaperone trips, parties, lock-ins, outings, etc.  We offer a number of 'extra' opportunities during the year which require adult chaperones.  We go on a number of trips, retreats, and camps each year. We also have lock-ins, parties, and other group outings which require additional help and support. Adults are always needed to drive and/or chaperone these trips and special outings. Don't wait to be called… volunteer!

3. Open your home.  We are always looking for parents interested and willing to open their homes for youth meetings, small group Bible studies, progressive meals, and other fellowship opportunities.  On occasion, we also need host homes for college students who are leading group times with our youth.

4. Join the Youth Leadership Team.  We need volunteers to help teach Sunday School, work with our Youth on Mission Groups on Wednesday evenings, and/or be a Sunday night small group leader.

5. Do Missions with our youth.  We need chaperones/volunteers to go on mission trips with our youth.  Some of these outings are one-day trips and others can last a week or more.

6. Lead a Parent Bible study.  Do you sometimes feel that you're on an island by yourself when it comes to raising teenagers?  You can rest assured that other youth parents feel the same way as you do.  Let's get together to study scripture, share our lives, and discuss how we can reinforce what we are doing as parents of teenagers.

7. Join a Sunday School Class. The Shared Journeys Sunday School Class includes a group of youth parents who meet each week for Bible study and support. There's a place for you in this 'youth parent' Sunday School class

8. Help with fundraisers.  Help plan, promote, and support fundraisers for the youth ministry.  Fundraisers help lower the cost of trips and other outings for our youth. Fundraisers are vital to ensure that our youth have opportunities to fully participate in the ministries offered by the church.

9. Join the Youth Ministry Council.  We are not an exclusive group.  Just because there are certain names on the council list at the beginning of each year doesn't mean we don't want your input.  Come help us plan youth events and discuss how we can minister to your teens.  Contact the Minister of Youth & Education if you're interested in attending these meetings.

10. Be an active participant in the life and ministry of the church.  Attend worship services and Sunday School on a regular basis.  Take advantage of the many opportunities RBC provides for you to grow, learn, and serve in and through this church.

11. Pray for our youth.  Pray daily for our youth and adult youth leaders.
